Pumpkin carving, round 2

We had a pumpkin carving contest last night at the old house in Denver.

5 pumpkins, 5 people

S man hard at work. (His hand started cramping.)

Ashley didn't waste time with the silly plastic pumpkin carving knives.

S carved a monster.

I carved a Lion of Flanders (freehand, from my iPhone, oh yeah.)

Ashley's upside-down bat and S's monster. No labrador-sized sewer-dwelling raccoon in the background, sadly.

On the way home: Safety first kids!

We had a Bikes Belong photo shoot this morning. Here is one glorious piece of evidence.

And another.

I'll stop now.

That no footsie trick looks dangerous. At least you're wearing closed toe shoes...

Why are all your organizational photo shoots always so gooey?

Bikes Belong should get shots of Boston commuting in February--riding through Kenmore Square in the twilight of the PM rush, into the teeth of a sleet-storm, through an ankle-deep, grit-and-salt-flavored Slush Puppy, while shooting the gap between a box truck and some jaywalking, Uggs-wearing, space-cadet BU student totally immersed in her iPhone.

Tell me that wouldn't make people want to ride bikes.
